Why I’m Running
I’m running to represent the South Bay in the Assembly because our community deserves leaders who understand the challenges we face — and who deliver results, not just promises.
As School Board President, I’ve seen how decisions made far from the classroom affect students, teachers, and families. That’s why I fought to ensure our schools have the resources they need and that taxpayer dollars are spent responsibly and effectively — the same approach I will bring to the Assembly.
As a small business owner, I’ve experienced the challenges local entrepreneurs face. When my husband and I opened an independent urgent care, I saw firsthand how complex permitting and rising costs — from rent to hiring staff — make it harder for small businesses to grow and create jobs.
As a dentist and healthcare provider, I’ve seen patients pay higher premiums only to be denied the care they need. Insurance companies too often delay or block critical treatment, putting health at risk. Healthcare decisions should be made by doctors and patients — not insurance companies.
Through these experiences, I’ve seen the same problem again and again: too often, powerful interests, party insiders, and career politicians drown out the needs of everyday people.
It doesn’t have to be that way.
In the Assembly, I will focus on practical solutions and real accountability — lowering everyday costs, holding utility and insurance companies accountable, expanding access to quality healthcare, strengthening public schools, and making it easier for families to afford to live, work and retire in the South Bay.
Government should work for the people it serves — not just the powerful few. I’m ready to bring a new voice to Sacramento that puts South Bay families first.
Issues and Priorities
The priorities I fight for will always be driven by what matters most to our community. As I’ve done as School Board President, I will work to break down the barriers in a system that too often requires knowing someone in power just to have your voice heard. Government should work the other way around — those in power should do the work to listen, learn, and act on the priorities of the people they serve.
Most importantly, I am committed to strong constituent service and making it easy for you to connect with me while I represent you in the Legislature.
My priorities to ensure South Bay residents can live, work, raise families, and retire in the communities they love include:
- Balance the state budget by restoring fiscal discipline in Sacramento, closing unfair tax loopholes, and pursuing responsible non-tax revenue sources.
- Lower everyday costs and expand housing for teachers, nurses, first responders and working families.
- Expand access to quality, affordable healthcare so every Californian can get care when they need it.
- Strengthen affordable education pathways from preschool to career so every student can build a stable future.
- Reduce the influence of special interests in our political system.
Let’s work together for a South Bay and California where everyone can thrive.
Lowering Taxes and Government Spending
Families shouldn’t have to shoulder an unfair tax system or unaccountable government spending that benefits the largest corporations and special interests at their expense. As an elected school board member, I’ve worked to maintain fiscal discipline and responsible budgeting.
Let’s stabilize the state budget, close unfair tax loopholes, and pursue responsible new sources of non-tax revenue.
Inflation and Cost of Living
Everyday costs are rising—from gas and groceries to utilities and housing—making it harder for families and pushing more people toward homelessness.
Let’s tackle rising costs by ensuring accountability in the utility and insurance industries while streamlining permitting and reducing unnecessary red tape to make it easier and more affordable to start a business or build in our communities, while maintaining strong environmental and safety protections.
Healthcare Access
As a family dentist and healthcare small business owner, I’ve seen firsthand how insurance companies deny care while raising rates. Rising healthcare costs also strain small businesses and local governments trying to provide coverage for their employees.
Let’s expand access to quality, affordable healthcare, including mental health and substance abuse treatment, removing barriers to care, and pursue real solutions that put patients first so every Californian can get the care they deserve.
Quality and Affordable Education
As school board president, I’ve worked to strengthen neighborhood public schools, ensure safe learning environments, retain great teachers, and expand affordable pathways to college and future-ready careers. Serving on the SoCal ROC Board, I’ve focused on delivering high-quality Career Technical Education programs that lead to good-paying jobs in the South Bay.
Let’s make sure every student, teacher, and school has the tools and support they need to thrive.
Protecting Our Democracy
Our democracy thrives when every voice is heard, every vote counts, and leaders put people—not ideology or special interests—first. I’ve partnered with civil liberties organizations and political civility initiatives to defend fundamental rights and promote respectful public dialogue.
Let’s stand up to extremism and division, reduce the influence of special interests in our elections, and ensure our government reflects the values and needs of everyday families.
